What’s your story?

Where would you like it to go next?

The Story of You is a creative development journey exploring your story, allowing you the space to look at what’s gone before, what’s happening now and where you might want to go in the next chapter.

There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.

Maya Angelou

You are the author of your story, what do you want it to say?

Sometimes we reach a point in our lives where we are at a crossroads and are not sure which path to take. Or we meet a roadblock and feel completely stuck.

The Story of You allows you to take a step back, reflect, and look at things from a different angle, lifting the heaviness away from what might feel like challenging and big decisions.

What sparks joy?

Facilitated by Harriet Morris, sessions offer a range of creative practices including storytelling and mindful reflection, mixed with practical goal setting, problem solving, and resilience work.

This process is suited to anyone who would like to reflect on their own narrative, consider the crossroads they find themselves at and explore the possibilities beyond.

You already have the answers within you and together we will draw these ideas and dreams out. The aim is for you to leave feeling confident and empowered, ready to take your next steps forward.

Some details…

Individual work

Every person’s journey is unique and can be tailored to fit your needs - this is your process. We will work flexibly around you and life’s various twists and turns.

I offer a free 20 minute Discovery Session so you can get a feel for the process and find out if it’s for you. We can then discuss how you would like to tailor your journey.

I recommend we begin with a minimum of four 2-hour sessions (online or in person) with a follow up session a month later. If you would prefer more or less time working together, this is something we can discuss and make work.

Costs are worked out on a sliding scale, depending on your financial situation and I am very happy to discuss this with you.

Group work

Designed specifically for mums, The Story of You also runs as a six-week group for mums to come together to discuss and support one another in their hopes and dreams for the future. Being a parent is wonderful and also incredibly consuming. The group allows you space to step outside your role as mum, to reflect on your own story and where you want it to go next - this could be around work, family life or pursuing your own interests - all hopes and ideas are welcome.

Relaxed, creative and empowering, this six-week course is non-pressured, allowing you to dream and get practical without adding more tasks to your endless to-do list!

Harriet Morris, the story so far…

My story has taken many different paths over the years. After graduating with a Masters Degree in Dance Performance I felt at a loss as to what to do next, feeling torn between my desire to make a difference in the world and pursuing artistic endeavours, unsure of how to marry the two passions up.

This uncertainty, although frustrating led to a mixture of equally wonderful and challenging learning experiences. Alongside two other women, I co-founded and later directed a women’s support charity. Spending the first two years in research and development phase, I understand only too well that feeling of uncertainty and imposter syndrome, as well as the important steps and hard work needed to move an idea into a reality.

At a similar time, I worked for an organisation that gives funding and mentorship to grassroots projects. I supported others in early project development as well as hosting network events, working with groups in strategy and key decision making processes.

I am part of a touring dance company, Tick Tock Bridget, which I also co-founded alongside two other dancers. The performances we create have storytelling and wellbeing at their heart and we work hard to bring dance to audiences who do not usually have much access to the arts.

I am now a mum, navigating the wonderful and stretching experience of bringing up a small human!

Every story is precious and I feel privileged to share the stories of those I work with. Passionate about seeing people grow in confidence and self belief, I work with the strong conviction that we all have more resources within us than we know.

Kind words…

“For me, Harriet’s approach was the perfect balance of practicality and doing on the one hand, with creativity, and an understanding of the psychology that underpins the process on the other…It was really freeing to feel that I could just be me, at that moment in time…It took pressure off the process, and somehow freed it up to be more natural and more rewarding. The sessions were excellent and I’d recommend you to anyone.”

“Harriet's approach brings a gentleness - a kind of channelled strength - to all that she does. Her facilitation style is engaging and reflective and I have no hesitation in recommending her.”

“Harriet offers a unique and engaging way to look at your career to date and explore opportunities for the future. The sessions are methodical, and structured in a way that give you the freedom to deep dive into your ambitions. I would highly recommend this course for anyone who leans towards the creative - the end result being a visual representation of the work covered. I found the process really valuable.”
